6x5 is an abstract version of Xochintlan, released earlier on this very same website. The earlier one used square tiles with an Aztec background, the later one uses colored hexagons.
Why hexagons ? Playing with 6 sided shapes increases the possibilites of patterns of 5 elements, and moreover (as the experiments have showned) multiplies the playing fun by an average of 1.5 on the Richter's scale *.
As in Xochintlan, each player must realize a pattern of 5 elements, using the very same building items and at the very same place on the playing area. All the patterns being slightly similar, there's a great chance that you're helping your opponent as well while you're trying to realize your own pattern.
Yet 6x5 is a bit different from its older brother. It offers more variants, and introduces a new system using pawns to spot the last tile played by each player.
The rule is 2 pages long (120KB). You will need to download the 32 cards sheet (1 page pdf - 30KB) and the 25 hexagons sheet (1 page pdf - 25KB). You'll also need to get pawns from an other game (1 pawn per player total). In case all your neighbors are 7 or older, that's good news ! You may now invite them over to try out this game.
